The space✨ Why You’ll Love It
"Like Sleeping Inside a Nature Documentary": Walk to our private waterfall and bridge crossing, fall asleep to the creek’s lullaby, wake to rolling mist over the trees and the sounds of nature. The outdoor shower’s rainwater rinse? Pure magic.
Adventure at Your Doorstep: 5+ iconic waterfalls (Crabtree, Tom’s Creek), Linville Gorge, Pisgah and Grandfather Mountain trails—all under 45 mins away. Borrow our Secret Swimming Holes Map for hidden gems.
Your Typical Day:
Morning: Coffee and yoga by the creek → Midday: Hike to iconic blue ridge waterfall → Afternoon: Rain shower rinse and hammock nap with a book → Evening: S’mores under starry skies.
🏡 The Space
Sleep: Memory-foam king bed (dreamy for stargazing through the skylight) + oversized comfy chair for curling up with a blanket.
Bathroom: Shared outhouse (100ft away, with one other yurt); private gravity shower beside the yurt (seasonal, March–Oct).
Kitchen: Stainless steel setup with propane stove + 7-gallon water jug. Pro tip: Cook tacos al fresco—the treetop view tastes better.
Power/Heat: Solar battery for charging + propane heater (20-lb tank included). “But pack layers—nights dip to 40°F in spring and fall!”
❓ Know Before You Go
“How off-grid is it?” No Wi-Fi, but the solar battery powers lights, charges devices and runs a fan. Rechargeable lanterns set the mood. Fireflies handle the nightlight.
“What about bugs?” Spiders are our minimalist housekeepers (eco-friendly pest control!). I recommend bringing bug spray, and being prepared to encounter some of our forest friends.
“Should I be worried about bears?”
Access: There’s a fairy-lit 200 ft hike from the parking area; and a 1-mile gravel private drive from the highway leading in to this parking area (“Drive slow and steady—The road can be rough in a few spots, but my 2WD mini van makes it in and out daily no problem”).
🎁 Exclusive Perks
Guided Adventures: Book local pros for fly-fishing, yoga, or rappelling into Linville Gorge (ask us!).
Free Adventure Guide: Our “5 Years of Local Secrets” linktree includes hidden gem trails, BBQ joints, and the best sunrise spots.
🌿 Seasonal Hooks
Spring: Wildflowers line the road and the mountainside; clear skies for stargazing, perfect for birdwatching.
Summer: Firefly nights + waterfall dips to cool off.
Fall: Orange and red leaves frame the yurt in a golden tunnel—crisp nights perfect for campfires.
Winter: No bugs, clear skies for stargazing + heater keeps it cozy (but shower closed).
📌 Logistics
Firewood: Sold on-site (chopped by neighbor Carl!) or gather your own.
Pack: Headlamp, sturdy shoes, reusable bottle, and a sense of wonder.
💬 Guest Fave Reviews
“I CANNOT say enough good things! ...the land was beautiful, and the positive energy that radiated around the area was overwhelming. I’d rate Outercamp 1,000,000/5 stars if the app would let me, but alas, 5/5 will just have to do :-)” —Cecelia, 2024
"AMAZING. I wish we could rate it more than 5 stars! It was the perfect place to truly disconnect and experience the simplicity of living. Bring your food/drinks and a good book, and Evan supplies the rest. —Jessica, 2024
